How to import existing customers and companies:

Before you can start importing your customers and companies, you will need to create all of the necessary Properties. Within the Properties section all the Contacts tab should have a default Basic Iinformation properties. If you are entering just the basic information of the customers and companies you don't necessarily need to create any additional Properties. However depending on the charatceristics of your copmany you might need to make additoinal Properties when importing existing customer and copmanies database. After creating your custom Properties, the properties for the should look like this:

After creating your custom Properties, you will need to prepare your existing customer database in Microsoft Excel. You will need to create Columns for each property you would like to include when importing the existing database . Example of this would be as follows:

Here you can see that in our example database we chose to include the customer's Code, First Name, Last Name, Primary Phone, Primary Email, and our custom Properties. Depending on the characteristics of your company and what information you would like to include in your client's information sheet you can create Properties that correspond to the Columns.

Now you are finally ready to import all of your existing customer and company database into the Erxes platform. To import all of your customer and company data please follow these steps:

1. Downloading the CSV Template:

Follow these steps to download the CSV Template in order to start importing your data:

1. Click the Settings

2. Click the Import & Export

3. Select the Type of data you are trying to import to the Erxes platform. These include:

   1. Leads

   2. Customers

   3. Companies

   4. Products & Services

   5. Sales Pipeline

   6. Tickets

   7. Tasks

4. Click Download Template

5. Select Columns menu will pop up

6. Check the Properties you would like to include

   • Note that all of your custom Properties will also be included within the list

   • The Properties menu will not be in order so after checking the Properties please drag order them as shown below

7. Click Download CSV

2. Copy existing data to CSV Template:

1. Open the CSV Template in Microsoft Excel

2. Open the Excel document with your customer and company data

3. Copy the data to the CSV Template

   • Make sure the columns correspond to the correct CSV Template columns

4. Save the CSV Template

3. Importing the Customers to Erxes:

1. Click the Import & Export

2. Click the Import Customers

3. Select the CSV Template you have saved

4. The importing process will start

5. Click Show Results to see if data have been all imported

After having your customer and companies data successfully imported you can go to the Contacts->Customers in order to see if all of the data has bee imported. If everything has been imported correctly your Customers tab should look like the following:

The same steps applies when you are importing all of your companies database as well.
